SWEB Report (Ted Oslak & Mike Butler)
• SECA volunteers are needed; submit names to Kathy Stine
• Jerry Hellman made a report on Organizing
• Member Resource Center for grievances, inquiries, e-mails, etc. discussed --
will have Field reps, Grievance reps, & Resource reps
• SEIU Convention is in Puerto Rico -- cost is $1500 per member; 6 nights, dbl occupancy, only $7000 in budget for it
• Call to lobby state senators by CAO’s about State Bill 1137, Cover all Pennsylvanians (CAP) to keep work in the CAO’s
• There’s a meeting with Jack Wagner in Attny General’s Office to investigate Deloitt’s contracts for programs that do not work
• COPE: great interest in getting more people to contribute;
• 5/5/08 – Chapter having a COPE Call Bank from 5 to 8 p.m.
• there is to be a COPE Committee in every Chapter: Cas appointed Ted Oslak as the chair for Chapter One’s COPE Committee
• Lobby Day is June 23rd – next SWEB meeting moved to June 22nd at 1:00 p.m.
• We have 10 Chapter members interested in attending Lobby Day

Civil & Human Rights Committee – Paul Gambill - Mr Marshall, chairperson, resigned from committee; moving to DPW in Hrsbrg
CAO Rank & File Committee:
• There’s a push to get IMCW’s into hospitals to take applications with hospitals assuming cost
• Trying to get CHIP program back into CAO’s
• Next meeting: May 15, 2008
• Lisa Turner is being recruited as Chapter Rep to R&F statewide Committee: motion made by Paul Gambill to pay for Lisa’s meals, lodging, and per diem for her to attend May 14/15

Annual Chapter Picnic
• June 22, 2008, Waldameer Park
• Motion made by Kathy Baldwin to keep prices the same as last year ($15 combo & picnic; $5 picnic only)
• 2nd: Paul Gambill
• Discussion: In 2007, we had 356 reservations and cost to Chapter was $1519 – we carried $1700 over from previous budget – price of pop service has remained the same – our cost for Ride-a rama is $14.25 (for 100 – 499 sold); regular price is $21.95
• Vote: 12 yes; 1 no; passed
• Co-chairs are Erma Rhodes and Thea Hyatt
• Planning meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 20th , 5:00 p.m. in PSSU office
Lobby Day
Motion made by Thea Hyatt for Chapter to pay for lodging Sunday night, meals (Sunday dinner, Monday breakfast and Monday dinner), and transportation for those attending Lobby Day

Erma Rhodes - Contract for Court Appointed, Crawford Co, approved
Tentative agreement with Commissioner’s residual unit
Working on Court related Professional Unit – stalled on money
Crawford OCY wkr discharged in Dec, 2006, won in court, and was
awarded back pay
Lawrence CAO wanted a vacation selection period agreement; Arbitrator ruled that because there is no selection period agreement, EVERY day is a selection period
OES Committee: notice sent to all stewards that money for Employment Services is down to $0 in Bush’s federal budget.
