CHAPTER ONE MEETING
9/23/09
Meeting called to order by President Mike Butler at 5:31 p.m. and roll call taken from sign up sheet.
COMMITTEE REPORTS
SWEB (State Wide Executive Board) Highlights – see the enclosed Shop Steward summary from SWEB. Representative Joe Sestak and Auditor General Jack Wagner also spoke.
OES Report – submitted by John Hamilton -- see enclosed report.
Business Agent Reports – submitted in writing by Rick Adams and Charlene Smith – see enclosed reports
CAO Rank & File – Lisa Turner and Cas Wojciki reported that there is a pilot being done in Columbia County; where 2 TANF workers and 1 CSR are in the office to address walk-ins coming into the office. All the other case workers have been dispersed into the call center and are taking calls from the surrounding counties. This pilot is setting a dangerous precedent, towards regionalization, since its moving work across county lines.
COPE –Ted Oslak stated that Kathy Jellison saluted all chapters during the Human Services Campaign, for their activity/efforts during the Budget Impasse. COPE is currently working on trying to get county employees and retirees to contribute to COPE through automatic deduction through their checking accounts.

NEW BUSINESS
Approval to pay for food for meeting -- motion made by Cas Wojciki, 2nd by Ted Oslak, all in favor, approved.
Approval to pay the outstanding balance for the Chapter I Picnic of $1, 221.88 – motion made by Cas Wojciki, 2nd by Ted Oslak, all in favor, approved.
Approval to move sufficient funds from the under spent line items to balance those items which have been over spent in the 2008/2009 budget – Motion made by Ted Oslak, 2nd by Cas Wojciki, all in favor, approved.
Approve the recommendation of the picnic committee (per letter submitted by Erma Rhodes) to make a change in the way picnic reservations are made -- motion made by Lisa Turner, 2nd by Pete Dalaba, all in favor, approved.
