Notes from Aging Committee Meeting

December 4, 2009

Attendees: Lisa Simrell, Mariel Lorenz, Sue Crouse, and Michelle Schaaf

Went over tentative dates for meetings in 2010 – all starting at 10am: March 12, Jun 4, Sept 10, and Dec 3.

Went over current member list – see agenda for chapters and representative. 

Provided information on SEIU essay contest for college scholarship.

Wait list status for chapters present: Lisa (Chp 14) –all services in Options, FCSP; Michelle (Chp 8) – FCSP services; Sue (Chp 4) – all services in Options, FCSP; Mariel (Chp 11) – Options PC services, FCSP services.

Lisa provided information on Mom’s Meals – a new MOW provider in Lackawanna county.

LIFE – few counties are involved with providing assessments including Chp 14 and Chp 8.  Counties notice trend where LIFE programs are heavily marketed to older adult communities.
