September 16, 2017 Summary of SWEB Motions

Approval of Minutes:  The Statewide Executive Board (SWEB) voted to approve the minutes from the April 30, 2017 SWEB meeting.

Committee List & Appointments:  SWEB voted to approve the committee appointments per the committee list dated September 2017.  For a complete list of committee members, please visit our web site at www.seiu668.org.

SEIU 668 Budget Fiscal Year 2017-2018SWEB voted to approve the SEIU 668 Budget Fiscal Year 2017-2018 as recommended by the Budget-Finance Committee.

Resolution for Recognition:  SWEB voted to approve a resolution to recognize Beverly Rapp,

Coordinator for the Erie CareerLink Rapid Response Team, for her dedication to the Labor Movement.  Ms. Rapp has met with labor leaders and legislators across the Commonwealth to advocate in favor of the Wagner-Peyser Act to fund CareerLink activities and has worked tirelessly over the past few years on creating new job opportunities for the citizens of Pennsylvania.

Trustees/Budget Finance Committee – SWEB voted to approve to add the Trustees as members of the Budget Finance Committee in an advisory role.

The Office of Unemployment Compensation (OUC) Committee Funding – SWEB voted to

authorize a transfer from the strike and emergency fund for up to $25,000 in the event the OUC committee’s budget is depleted due to the continued gap in funding Unemployment Compensation Service Centers and the continued need to educate members, legislators, and UC Claimants.  These monies are meant to ensure that the OUC committee can continue to conduct their quarterly meetings in addition to funding a workgroup created by the OUC Committee and Unemployment Compensation Referees, to work in conjunction with the officers to organize any actions necessary to advocate for a fix to the UC funding crisis.
