SEIU State Council proudly announces the Endorsement of Pam Iovino for State Senate District 37. This special election will take place on April 2, 2019. Pam has a long history of public service. She enlisted in the Navy after college and earned a promotion to Captain. After her career in the Navy, she held the position of Assistant Secretary at the Department of Veteran Affairs.
Pam believes in strengthening the economy through raising the minimum wage, investing in training, growing the labor movement, and bringing small businesses into the region. Pam recognizes the importance of the labor movement and wants to increase union membership. She understands that “Right to Work” legislation underminds and destroys workers rights. As a Senator, she will fight back against legislation that attacks collective bargaining rights.
Pam understands the need for a fair tax system and will work to implement one in Pennslyvania. She believes corporations need to pay their fair share in taxes and will work to close corporate tax loopholes.
